Before you spend another penny on ads - there are some things you NEED to know.

Setting Up A Landing Page for Direct Sales Promotions

If I ask you why you are advertising there is a common answer that is totally wrong.

That is: "I want to get more traffic."

Sure, 'more traffic' is a nice thing - but as a Direct Seller it is not what you really want.

- You want someone to buy something.

or

- You want someone to provide contact info so you can call them and talk to them about your business opportunity.

or if you are really progressive

- You want someone to subscribe to your mailing list.

Think specifically about what you want.

When you spend time and money advertising on the internet, you need to take time to plan out your ad campaign and prepare a landing page that will inspire and facilitate the desired action.

Key Thought: If you fail to plan - you PLAN TO FAIL!

So let's make a plan:

First. Choose one desired action. Be very specific.

"I want to sell the lipstick special that my company has offered this month."

Second. Scout out a pathway to purchase.

If your company allows you to sell directly from the site AND you can link directly to a product page, you could just make that your landing page.

Since some direct sales companies have not created websites that permit a purchase that properly credits the seller, you may have to set up your own sales page - and maybe you even want to do it this way for other reasons.

For instance, if you're advertising on forums many of your potential customers will want to be able to buy this item from you and pay with PayPal and most company websites aren't set up to take PayPal payments.

So you can create a special landing page that offers the lipstick through a PayPal buy it now link. You'll want to set a price that includes shipping to keep things very simple.

The page you create needs to provide all of the information they need to make a yes or no decision about the desired action. In this case, it's yes or no about buying the lipstick. So give them a picture, a description, color choices, etc. Tell them exactly what will happen after they pay. (You'll call them to verify color choice and address?)

The goal is to send your visitor directly to a page that let's them act NOW on one offer.

Third. Write a compeling ad for the item you're selling and include the link to your landing page.

Fourth. Place the ad where your target market will see it.
